Over labor day weekend, Kendell and I literally went over the mountain and through the woods....and the long long desert to see my Grandma and go to Glacier National Park in Montana. We had a lot of fun and a lot of driving!
Grandma's: We walked around and saw the farm animals and all the fun crops. My Aunt was doing some relandscaping and then they cooked us a really good dinner. (smoked ribs, corn on the cob, pototoes and huckleberry shakes! Mmmm Thanks Owen!) A drive through the bird refuge and to see my cousins land she's building on. And I also made homemade butter. Kendell and I were fascinated by the process.
Glacier: Glacier was a blast. Very cold and rainy and then when we drove to the very top of "Going to the Sun Highway" It was a blizzard so we didn't do the hike up there. We did a very pretty hike when we got there and stopped and saw several pretty falls on the drive. Our campsite turned out to be one of the most requested! Lucky us. It was right on the lake and in the morning Kendell walked down to it and saw some wildlife. By the time I got up they were all gone. Ha ha Funny story though....Kendell decided to "relieve himself" in the morning and while he was going a squirrel started throwing pinecones at him and yelling ha ha. Apparently the animals aren't tolerant of that kind of behavior. We stayed very warm in our tent thanks to my father in laws tent heater and my skill of super insulating the sleeping bag! On our drive home we stopped at a bear park so we at least got to see some bears.
